How To Make Sausage McMuffin Egg Bake

Recreate your favorite fast food breakfast with this sausage McMuffin recipe made with chewy English Muffins baked with eggs for a delicious breakfast meal.

Ingredients

  • 12eggsdivided
  • 1tbspbutteroptional
  • 2cupsmilk
  • tspsalt
  • ½tspblack pepper
  • 16ozbreakfast sausage
  • 2cupscheddar cheese
  • 8english muffinslarge
  • maple syrupfor topping

Instructions

  1. Cook sausage on high heat. Remove from pan, let cool and slice into chunks.

  2. Drain or wipe fat from the pan if you would like to use butter to cook the eggs. If you want to cook them in sausage fat instead, drain all but about a tablespoon and heat the pan on medium-high.

  3. Break 6 eggs into a bowl, add them to the pan and poke the yolks.

  4. Stir a bit just to spread the yolks around a bit.

  5. Cook until just set and remove from pan.

  6. Spray either your cast iron skillet or 8×8 inch pan with cooking spray.

  7. Cut the English muffins into chunks and toast at 375 degrees F until slightly browned and crispy for about 7 to 9 minutes.

  8. Whisk the rest of the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.

  9. Add toasted English Muffin chunks, eggs, sausage, and cheese in layers to your pan.

  10. Pour the egg mixture over it evenly.

  11. Bake for about 45 to 50 minutes.

  12. Enjoy with maple syrup!
