How To Make Baked Shells and Cheese Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. small pasta shells
  • 5 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions and drain.

  2. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  3. In a saucepan, melt butter. Add flour and whisk continuously for 1-2 minutes until bubbly.

  4. Add milk and heavy cream while continuing to whisk. Add garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  5. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the mixture thickens. Turn off heat and add shredded cheese. Stir until melted and combined.

  6. In a baking dish, mix pasta and cheese sauce. Top with breadcrumbs.

  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
