How To Make Walleye Fish Tacos
Crispy walleye paired with fresh toppings on a warm tortilla – the perfect taco night meal!

Ingredients
- For the fish:
- 1 lb walleye fillets, cut into 2-inch pieces
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 cup panko bread crumbs
- Oil for frying
- For the toppings:
- 2 cups shredded green cabbage
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 avocado, diced
- 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and diced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 lime, cut into wedges
- For serving:
- 8 taco-sized flour tortillas
Instructions

In a shallow bowl, whisk together flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

In a separate shallow bowl, whisk together milk and egg.

Place panko breadcrumbs in a third shallow bowl.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Dip each piece of walleye in the flour mixture, then the milk mixture, and then the panko breadcrumbs.

Place the breaded fish in the hot oil and pan-fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.

Remove fish from skillet and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

Warm the tortillas in the microwave or in a dry skillet.

Assemble tacos by layering cabbage, red onion, avocado, jalapeno, cilantro, and fried walleye on top of each tortilla.

Serve with lime wedges on the side.
