How To Make Fried Ice Cream
Discover how to make a satisfyingly crunchy fried ice cream without deep-frying. All you need is a good amount of cereals and a firm scoop of ice cream.
Pour cornflakes into a gallon size resealable bag, seal bag, and then use a rolling pin to crush cornflakes into small bits.
Melt butter in a nonstick 10-inch frying pan over medium heat. Stir in crushed corn flakes and cinnamon and increase the heat slightly.
Cook mixture, stirring constantly until golden brown and fragrant for about 2 minutes.
Remove from heat, pour the mixture into a shallow dish and allow to cool.
Remove ice cream from the freezer, scoop out the desired serving size, and shape it into a ball with clean hands.
Immediately drop the ice cream ball into the cornflake mixture and roll to evenly coat, while pressing the cornflake mixture around the outer surface for a thicker coating.
Freeze for 10 to 15 minutes to re-solidify ice cream, keep frozen until ready to serve. Add toppings just before serving.
