Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar.

  3. Cut in butter using a fork or pastry cutter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. Stir in raisins and cinnamon.

  5. Make a well in the center of the mixture, and pour in buttermilk. Stir until just combined.

  6. Turn dough out onto a floured surface and knead briefly.

  7. Pat or roll out dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut biscuits using a biscuit cutter or a round cookie cutter.

  8. Place biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  9. Bake for 13-15 minutes or until golden brown.

  10. Serve warm and enjoy!
