How To Make Culver’s Wisconsin Swiss Melt Recipe

A mouthwatering sandwich filled with juicy beef patties, crispy bacon, melted Swiss cheese and sautéed onions.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 slices of bacon
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 8 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 4 thick slices of sourdough bread
  • 4 tbsp. butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the ground beef, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Form into 4 equal-sized patties.
  3. Cook the bacon in a skillet until crispy. Remove from the skillet and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  4. Add the sliced onions to the skillet and cook until caramelized. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, cook the beef patties until browned and cooked through.
  6. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  7. Place the bread slices butter-side down on a baking sheet. Top with a slice of Swiss cheese, a beef patty, two slices of bacon, and caramelized onions. Top with another slice of Swiss cheese.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the bread is toasted.
  9. Serve hot.
