How To Make Culver’s Cheese Curds Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup lager beer
  • 1 lb Wisconsin cheese curds
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat oil in a deep fryer or heavy skillet to 375°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, kosher salt, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Add milk and beer to dry ingredients, whisking until smooth.
  4. Dip cheese curds in batter, allowing excess to drip off, and carefully place in hot oil.
  5. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
