How To Make Copycat Cracker Barrel Old-Fashioned Oatmeal

If you enjoy a classic breakfast, then try this old fashioned oatmeal! This Cracker Barrel copycat is topped with apples and cinnamon.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 3 cups water
  • ½ tsp salt
  • tbsp unsalted butter, chilled

For Serving:

  • 2 tbsp green apples, chopped
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Combine the water and salt in a saucepot then bring to a boil.

  2. Add in the oats and reduce the heat to low.

  3. Stir every 3 minutes for 20 minutes or until the oats are tender.

  4. Once the oats are cooked, remove them from the heat and add butter. Mix until the butter has melted and is evenly incorporated.

  5. Top the oatmeal with chopped apples and cinnamon. Serve.
