How To Make Legume Burger Recipe

A delicious and healthy vegetarian burger patty made with legumes, veggies, and spices.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 can of chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can of black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup of cooked quinoa
  • 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup of red onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup of bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/4 cup of chopped cilantro
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp of ground cumin
  • 1 tsp of smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tbsp of olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, mash the chickpeas and black beans with a fork or potato masher.

  2. Add the cooked quinoa, breadcrumbs, red onion, bell pepper, cilantro, garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Mix well.

  3. Add the beaten egg to the bowl and mix until everything is well combined.

  4. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and form into burger patties.

  5. Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.

  6. Add the burger patties to the skillet and cook for about 8-10 minutes on each side until browned and crispy.

  7. Serve on a bun with your favorite toppings, such as avocado, tomato, lettuce, and cheese.
