- 6 medium tomatoes, chopped
- 2 red chili peppers, diced
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the onions and garlic, and sauté until they become translucent.

Add the chopped tomatoes, chili peppers, salt, sugar, cumin powder, paprika, and black pepper. Stir well.

Cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the tomatoes have softened and released their juices.

Add the water and lemon juice, and let the sauce simmer for another 10 minutes.

Remove from heat and let the sauce cool slightly. Transfer it to a blender or use an immersion blender to puree until smooth.

Return the sauce to the pan and simmer for an additional 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
