How To Make Crab Sauce

Take your dishes to the next level with this crab sauce recipe. This rich sauce is great with seafood, fish, and pasta dishes.

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 pcs onions, with about 2 inches green, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • ¼ cup dry sherry
  • 4 fl oz lump crabmeat
  • 2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • tsp cajun seasoning, or creole seasoning, or to taste
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • salt, to taste
  • freshly ground black pepper, to taste


  1. Gather the ingredients.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat; stir in flour, onions, and parsley. Cook, stirring, for 5 minutes.
  3. Add the sherry and crabmeat to the flour mixture; gradually add the cream, stirring constantly. Stir in Cajun seasoning and tomato paste. Simmer for about 5 minutes to reduce slightly.
  4. Taste and adjust seasonings, adding salt and pepper, if necessary.
  5. Enjoy.
