How To Make Sugar Cookies with Royal Icing Recipe
Classic sugar cookies with a sweet royal icing on top.

Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup royal icing
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Stir in vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well.

Roll the dough on floured surface and use cookie cutters to create desired shapes.

Bake cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until golden around the edges. Cool on wire racks.

Decorate cooled cookies with royal icing.
