How To Make Split Pea Soup

Hearty and creamy soup made with split peas and vegetables.

  • 1 cup split peas
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 4 cups vegetable broth
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil


  1. Rinse split peas and set aside.

  2. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.

  3. Add onion, carrots, and celery. Sauté for 5 minutes.

  4. Add garlic and dried thyme. Sauté for 1 minute.

  5. Add split peas and vegetable broth. Bring to boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 40 minutes.

  6. Use an immersion blender to blend soup until smooth.

  7. Add salt and pepper to taste.

  8. Serve hot.
