How To Make Indian Chicken Curry Murgh Kari

A flavorful and aromatic Indian chicken curry, made with spices and thick creamy gravy.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 500g boneless chicken, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 green chillies, slit
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 cup water
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Coriander leaves, for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. When they start crackling, add onions and sauté until golden brown.

  2. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chillies. Sauté for a minute.

  3. Add tomatoes and cook until they become mushy.

  4. Add all the dry spices – coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, red chilli powder, and salt. Sauté for a minute.

  5. Add chicken pieces and mix well. Cook for 5-7 minutes.

  6. Add water and mix well. Cover the pan and cook for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.

  7. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan.
