How To Make Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup

No need to buy a condensed cream of mushroom soup if you have this handy recipe! It’s easy and fast to make from scratch, and stores well freezed too.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • ¼cupbutter
  • 8ozmushrooms
  • ½yellow onion
  • 1clovegarlic
  • ½tspkosher salt
  • ¼tspblack pepper,cracked
  • ¼cupflour
  • ½cupevaporated milk
  • ½cupchicken broth

Instructions

  1. Add the garlic in a food processor and pulse.

  2. Add the onion and pulse a couple of times.

  3. Add in the mushrooms and pulse 2 to 3 more times.

  4. Add the butter to a saucepan and melt.

  5. Add in the vegetable mixture, salt, and pepper.

  6. Cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally for 5 to 7 minutes.

  7. Add in the flour and stir ingredients well together for about 1 minute to let the flour cook a bit.

  8. Add in the evaporated milk and chicken broth, then cook until thickened.

  9. Use for recipes requiring a single can of condensed cream of mushroom soup. Enjoy!
