How To Make Tempura Squid

Ingredients
- 1/2 pound squid, cleaned and cut into rings
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup ice-cold sparkling water
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Soy sauce, for dipping
Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, and salt.

Gradually add sparkling water to the dry mixture, stirring until a smooth batter forms.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep saucepan or fryer to 375°F (190°C).

Dip squid rings into the tempura batter, allowing excess batter to drip off.

Carefully place the battered squid into the hot oil, frying in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

Use a slotted spoon to remove the squid from the oil and transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serve the tempura squid hot with soy sauce on the side for dipping.
