Ingredients

  • 8 sheets of dried kelp (nori)
  • 1 cup of cooked sushi rice
  • 8 ounces of smoked salmon, sliced
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 cucumber, cut into matchsticks
  • Soy sauce for dipping
  • Wasabi and pickled ginger for serving

Instructions

  1. Lay a sheet of dried kelp on a clean surface.

  2. Place a thin layer of sushi rice on top of the kelp, leaving a small border at the edges.

  3. Add a slice of smoked salmon, avocado, and a few cucumber matchsticks on top of the rice.

  4. Roll the kelp tightly, using a bamboo sushi mat if available, and apply a bit of water on the edge to seal the roll.

  5. Repeat steps 1-4 with the remaining ingredients.

  6. Slice the rolls into bite-sized pieces with a sharp knife.

  7. Serve the kelp and smoked salmon rolls with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger.
