How To Make Clam Fritters Recipe

Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, these fried fritters are loaded with fresh chopped clams and served with tartar sauce.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped clams
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup clam juice
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. Stir in milk, clam juice, and beaten egg until batter is smooth.

  3. Mix in chopped clams and onion.

  4. Heat 1 inch of oil in frying pan to 375°F.

  5. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  6. Drain on paper towels and serve with tartar sauce.
