Photos of Steak and Shake Frisco Melt Recipe (Copycat)
Steak and Shake is the best fast food to order from when I’m craving for delicious burgers that are almost always overloaded with meat and cheese. From their list of burgers, my favorite is their Frisco Melt sandwich burger. It’s an appetizing burger that’s different from the rest because it uses sourdough bread instead of regular hamburger buns. Aside from that, the double patty is made from three different ground beef parts, topped with two kinds of cheese slices, and a homemade tangy Frisco sauce. All of these combined make for a satisfying and filling sandwich that’s perfect for lunch or dinner.
My Frisco melt Steak and Shake copycat recipe is really simple. Since I’m familiar with making homemade burgers, it was really fun cooking and assembling this sandwich. I started making the hamburger patties first by mixing together ground round beef, ground sirloin, and ground chuck, then shaping them into patties. I recommend refrigerating so that it holds its shape while cooking. And then, I made the Frisco sauce which is made of thousand island dressing, French dressing, ketchup, and worcestershire sauce. This slightly sweet and tangy sauce is the key ingredient to making this Frisco melt sandwich extra delicious.
I then prepared the seasoning mix and the sourdough bread. You would also need to butter the 4 pieces of sourdough bread so it’s toasted and crispy. I began cooking the patties and then sprinkled the seasoning mix, and cooked both sides until it browns. I also toasted the sourdough bread on a griddle while the burger cooked. After a few minutes, both ingredients were ready to be assembled.
Since the Frisco melt sauce tasted good, I added a bit more onto the bread then placed the meat patties, Swiss cheese, American cheese, and the other toasted sourdough bread. My copycat Frisco melt recipe was a success. It was so satisfying and wonderful to eat this Frisco burger. I even made some vanilla milkshake and crispy french fries on the side for a full Steak and Shake eating experience!
