Frequently Asked Questions

Is turkey healthier than chicken?

Both turkey and chicken are good sources of highquality protein, vitamins, and minerals. Although, some parts of the chicken, like the breast, have more protein than its turkey counterpart. However, the difference in amount is actually not that big to really matter.

How can I make my turkey sandwich healthier?

Swapping some ingredients in this recipe, or adding healthier ones, can make your turkey sandwich more nutritious. You can add more fruits or vegetable fillings, like refreshing cucumber or tomato slices. You can also swap the Asiago focaccia bread for some whole wheat bread. This type of bread is high in fiber and can also make you feel full longer.

What condiments go best with a turkey sandwich?

To stay true to Panera Bread’s Sierra Turkey Sandwich Recipe, we used mayonnaise, sugar, BBQ sauce, piquillo peppers and lime juice for our sandwich dressing. But you can also change things up a bit by using other condiments that go well with turkey sandwiches. Some of these include pesto, greek yogurt, and even hoisin sauce! Also, if you’re out of mayo you can use hummus, nut butter, and even avocado as delicious substitutes.
