How To Make Mini Caprese Deep Dish Pizzas

The minty and fresh flavor of the traditional Caprese salad now in a deep dish pizza. Grab those tomatoes, basil, and Mozzarella cheese and start cooking.

Ingredients

  • 17ozpizza dough
  • ¼cupall purpose flour
  • Cooking oil
  • ¼cuppizza saucegarlic-flavored
  • 8ozfresh mozzarella
  • 12grape tomatoes
  • ¼cupmozzarellashredded
  • cupfresh basil leavesfinely shredded
  • ¼cupbalsamic glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Remove pizza dough onto a lightly floured work surface and allow it to come to room temperature.

  2. Slice dough into 12 equal pieces. Using a rolling pin or your hands, roll out each dough into 13-cm or 5-inch rounds.

  3. Lightly spray a muffin pan with oil. Gently press each dough piece into each muffin cup to fit into the base and sides.

  4. Place 2 slices of mozzarella cheese onto each dough first to prevent the dough from getting soggy.

  5. Layer with pizza sauce; 2 to 3 tomato slices, shredded basil.

  6. Sprinkle a small amount of shredded mozzarella onto the tops, drizzle with a little balsamic glaze, and bake until dough is golden brown and crisp.

  7. Allow cooling slightly before removing from muffin pan.

  8. To serve, drizzle with extra balsamic glaze.
