Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 1 celery stalk, diced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, grated carrot, and diced celery. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.

  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend together.

  4. Serve the Bolognese sauce over the cooked pasta. Top with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves.
