Ingredients

  • 1 large cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup ice water
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt.

  2. Gradually whisk in the ice water until the batter is smooth and thick.

  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or pot to 350°F (175°C).

  4. Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, allowing any excess to drip off, and carefully place them into the hot oil.

  5. Fry the cauliflower in batches for about 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

  6. Remove the cauliflower from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

  7. Serve the cauliflower tempura hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
