How To Make Bow Tie Pasta with Tomato Cream Sauce Recipe

Creamy tomato sauce over bow tie pasta.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. bow tie pasta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz.) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions.

  2. In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and sauté for 3-4 minutes until soft. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.

  3. Add crushed tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper to the saucepan. Stir to combine and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.

  4. Add heavy cream and Parmesan cheese to the saucepan. Stir to combine and simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.

  5. Serve pasta with tomato cream sauce and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
