Romanian Fried Noodle Pudding Recipe

How To Make Romanian Fried Noodle Pudding

This savory fried noodle pudding is made with a crispy on the outside, soft on the inside batter of buttery noodles and eggs, for a filling meal!

Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 30 minutes
Total: 45 minutes



  • 8ozfine egg noodles
  • 2tbsppareve margarine
  • 1large onion
  • 6tbspvegetable oil
  • 2eggs
  • salt and pepper


  1. Cook the noodles according to the directions on the package and drain.

  2. Transfer to a large bowl and add the margarine, blending well. Set aside.

  3. Sauté the onion in 2 tablespoons of the oil until golden.

  4. Add the onion to the noodles. Add the eggs and salt and pepper to taste. Mix all the ingredients well.

  5. Heat the remaining 4 tablespoons of oil in a large, heavy frying pan. Add the noodle mixture and let it brown on the bottom and sides, taking care not to burn it.

  6. When it is browned on one side, place a large plate over the pan. Turn it over onto the plate and then slide it back into the pan to brown the other side.

  7. Serve warm, and enjoy!
