Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp oregano dried
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • lbs shrimp, uncooked and peeled
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

For Optional Garnish:

  • fresh cilantro, chopped
  • lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Combine the chili powder, paprika, cumin, oregano, garlic powder, brown sugar, salt, and pepper in a bowl.

  2. Dump the mixture over the shrimp and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 30 minutes.

  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high temperature. Arrange the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2 minutes. Flip and cook for another 2 minutes.

  4. Add the garlic, stir, and cook for 30 seconds. Garnish with cilantro and lime wedges to serve.

Recipe Notes

  • Fully thaw frozen shrimp before cooking it.
  • Cook each side for only 30 seconds if you use pre-cooked shrimp to avoid overcooking.
