How To Make Emeril Lagasse Blackened Fish Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 fillets of any firm white fish (such as snapper, catfish, or tilapia)
  • 2 tbsp of smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp of garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp of onion powder
  • 1 tsp of cumin
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat.

  2. Pat dry the fish fillets with paper towels.

  3. Combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and cayenne pepper in a small bowl.

  4. Rub the spice mixture onto both sides of the fish fillets, pressing it in with your hands.

  5. Add the olive oil to the skillet.

  6. When the oil is shimmering, add the fish fillets to the skillet, and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until blackened and crispy.

  7. Serve immediately.
