How To Make Tamarind Ginger Beef Recipe
A sweet and sour dish with tender, juicy beef and a tangy tamarind ginger sauce.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef sirloin, sliced thinly
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp tamarind paste
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cilantro for garnish
Instructions

Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add onions, garlic and ginger, cooking for 2 minutes until fragrant.

Add sliced beef, salt and pepper, and sear until browned (around 3 minutes per side).

In a small bowl, mix tamarind paste, soy sauce and honey with 1/4 cup of water.

Pour sauce over beef and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 10 minutes.

Add sliced red bell pepper and continue to simmer for another 5-7 minutes, until the beef is tender and the sauce has thickened.

Garnish with cilantro and serve hot with rice.
