Licorice Root Tea Recipe

Don’t be fooled by its name. This tea isn’t like its friend black licorice, thankfully. I bet you didn’t know that licorice root is actually 50 times sweeter than sugar…

How To Make Licorice Root Tea

  • 1 cup water
  • Licorice root
  • Peppermint leaves (optional)
  1. Finely chop or grate licorice root into small pieces, enough for 1 tsp.

  2. Boil 1 C. of water.

  3. Place 1 tsp. of shredded licorice root into the infuser or tea ball. Pour boiling water into a mug and let tea steep for 5-10 minutes.

  4. Add peppermint or cinnamon for flavor, or a few drops of honey for sweetner instead of sugar.
