Cherry Orange Mulled Wine Recipe

Enjoy a rich and piping hot beverage with a warm wine and brandy kick. Garnish each glass with an orange peel and an added cinnamon stick.

Ingredients

  • 2 bottles red wine
  • 1 orange
  • 10 whole cloves
  • 2 star anise
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 cup cherries, pitted
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • ½ cup brandy
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

For Serving:

  • 1 star anise, per serving
  • 1 cinnamon stick, per serving

For Garnish:

  • 1 orange wheel, per serving

Instructions

  1. Using a toothpick, poke holes into the orange and stuff with cloves.

  2. In your crockpot, combine wine, orange with cloves, star anise, cinnamon sticks, cherries, brown sugar, and orange juice.

  3. Stir well and cook on low for 4 hours.

  4. Stir in brandy and lemon juice and transfer to glass mugs.

  5. Serve with star anise and cinnamon stick and garnish with an orange wheel.
