How To Make Honey Mulled Wine

Simmered with cinnamon and peppercorns, this honey mulled wine is a warm and sweet drink with a delicious spice that’s perfect for cold winter nights!

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 750mlZinfandel,(1 bottle), or Pinot Noir, or other full-bodied robust red wine
  • ¾cupwater
  • ¾cuphoney
  • 15whole black peppercorns
  • 1cinnamon stick,(3-inch), plus extra, optional for serving
  • 1star anise,or a couple cardamom pods. or allspice berries
  • lemon zest,thin peels, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine the wine, water, honey, peppercorns, cinnamon stick, and other spices in a 2-quart saucepan.

  2. Start adding a small amount of honey, then add more to taste. Warm over medium-low heat until steamy and lightly simmering.

  3. Strain into glass mugs. Serve with a thin strip of lemon zest and a bit of cinnamon stick. Enjoy!
