How To Make Flan de Queso (Cream Cheese Flan)

This milky smooth Flan de Queso made with milk and eggs is a melt in your mouth dessert, made creamier and richer with cream cheese.

Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 55 minutes
Cool and Chill Time: 2 hours 5 minutes
Total: 3 hours 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 14ozsweetened condensed milk,(1 can)
  • 12ozevaporated milk,(1 can)
  • 6eggs
  • 8ozcream cheese,(1 package), softened
  • cup2% milk
  • 1tspvanilla extract
  • 1cupwhite sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Fill a large oven-safe pot with water to 1 inch, then bring to a boil.

  3. Place the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, cream cheese, milk, and vanilla extract in a blender, and blend until smooth.

  4. Place the sugar in an even layer in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook for 1 minute until the edges start to brown, then drag the sugar into the center with a spatula once the edges start to brown. Continue cooking, stirring from time to time, for 4 to 5 minutes, until the caramel is an even golden brown.

  5. Pour the caramel into a 9-inch flan mold or baking pan, then swirl for the caramel to reach 1 inch up the sides.

  6. Pour the condensed milk mixture on top. Place the mold in the pot of boiling water.

  7. Bake the flan in the oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until a damp and a table knife inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. Remove from the oven and let stand for 5 minutes. Chill the flan in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours until firm.

  9. Invert onto a serving plate so that caramel is on top, serve, and enjoy!
