How To Make Gooey Butter Cookies

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the vanilla extract and egg, and mix until well combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake for 10 minutes, or until the cookies are lightly golden around the edges. Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once the cookies have cooled, dust them with powdered sugar. Serve and enjoy!
