  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract.

  3. Add the egg to the mixture and whisk until well combined.

  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.

  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.

  7. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.

  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are slightly soft.

  9. Allow the brookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
