Ingredients
- 3 egg whites, at room temperature
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp cream of tartar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- food coloring, of your choice, few drops
- 1 tsp orange extract
- 1¼ cups desiccated coconut
- all-purpose flour, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Grease your baking sheet with cooking spray and dust with flour.
- Place the egg whites, cream of tartar, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Beat until the whites are stiff.
- Slowly add the sugar, while beating constantly.
- Fold in food coloring, orange extract, and coconut until evenly incorporated.
- Transfer to a tipped piping bag and pipe your mixture onto your baking sheet, at least an inch apart from each other.
- Transfer to the oven and bake for about 30 minutes. Turn the oven off and let the kisses sit in the oven for at least 1½ hours to cool down. This will prevent cooked kisses from deflating.
- Serve this together with your favorite morning coffee or afternoon tea.
