- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large egg whites
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup whole milk
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg whites, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
