Ingredients

  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 1 celery stick, chopped
  • 4 cups of water
  • 2 cups of beef broth
  • 1 tsp of caraway seeds
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp of marjoram
  • 1 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • 1 cup of cubed smoked meat
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp of chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat, add the onion and sauté until translucent.

  2. Add the diced potatoes, carrots, and celery, and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. Pour the water and beef broth over the vegetables, add the caraway seeds, bay leaf, and marjoram, and bring to a boil.

  4. Reduce the heat and simmer for 40 minutes or until the potatoes are soft.

  5. Add the smoked meat, season with salt and pepper, and cook for another 5 minutes.

  6. Remove the bay leaf, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and serve hot.
