How To Make Sbarro’s Spaghetti and Meatballs Recipe

Classic spaghetti and meatballs with perfectly cooked pasta and juicy meatballs in a flavorful tomato sauce.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh basil and Parmesan cheese, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a large baking sheet and set aside.

  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

  4. Roll mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs.

  5. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until translucent.

  6. Add crushed tomatoes, dried basil, and dried oregano. Bring to a simmer.

  7. Add meatballs to the skillet and spoon sauce over them. Simmer for 10-15 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through.

  8. Transfer meatballs and sauce to prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until sauce is bubbly and meatballs are browned.

  9. Serve meatballs and sauce over cooked spaghetti. Garnish with chopped fresh basil and Parmesan cheese.
