How To Make Sara Lee’s Danish Pastry Recipe

Homemade Danish pastry, flaky and buttery, with a sweet filling – perfect for breakfast or a snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup fruit preserves
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Powdered sugar, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Roll out puff pastry and cut into 4 equal rectangles.

  3. Spread cream cheese and preserves onto each rectangle, leaving some space around the edges.

  4. Fold one corner over to the opposite corner, forming a triangle. Press the edges together with a fork.

  5. Brush with beaten egg and place on baking sheet.

  6. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.

  7. Allow to cool for a few minutes, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and serve warm.
