How To Make Potbelly Meatball Sandwich Recipe

A delicious combination of juicy meatballs, tangy marinara sauce, and melted provolone cheese on warm and toasted bread.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 4 hoagie rolls, split
  • 8 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and parmesan cheese. Mix well.

  3. Roll mixture into 12-14 meatballs.

  4. In a large skillet, brown meatballs over medium-high heat.

  5. Add marinara sauce to skillet and stir to combine with meatballs.

  6. Place hoagie rolls on a baking sheet and top with meatballs and sauce.

  7. Add 2 slices of provolone cheese to each sandwich.

  8. Bake in preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until cheese is melted and bread is toasted.

  9. Serve hot.
