How To Make Bojangles’ Dirty Rice Bowl Recipe
A classic Cajun-inspired dish, made with seasoned pork, chicken, sausage, and veggies served over white rice.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground pork
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs, diced
- 1/2 lb Andouille sausage, sliced
- 1 yellow onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups long-grain white rice
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Sliced green onions, for garnish
Instructions
-
In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground pork over medium-high heat until fully cooked. Remove from the pot, leaving the fat in the pot.
-
Add the chicken and Andouille sausage to the pot and cook until browned on all sides. Remove from the pot and set aside with the ground pork.
-
Add the onion, bell peppers, and garlic to the pot and sauté until softened.
-
Add the rice to the pot and stir to coat with the vegetable mixture. Pour in the chicken broth and stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, oregano, thyme, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
-
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Simmer for 18-20 minutes, until the rice is fully cooked.
-
Add the cooked ground pork, chicken, and sausage back into the pot and stir to combine. Allow to cook for another 2-3 minutes to reheat the meats.
-
Serve the dirty rice in bowls and top with sliced green onions for garnish.
