How To Make Dirty Rice Recipe

A spicy Cajun rice dish with chicken livers, beef, and vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white rice
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound chicken livers, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Cook rice according to package instructions.

  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  3. Add onion, celery, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook for 5-7 minutes or until vegetables are tender.

  4. Add ground beef and chicken livers. Cook for 10-12 minutes or until beef is browned and livers are cooked through.

  5. Add Cajun seasoning and salt. Stir to combine.

  6. Add chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes or until liquid has been absorbed.

  7. Stir in cooked rice and parsley. Serve hot.
