How To Make Bojangles’ Collard Greens Recipe

A southern style side dish made with tender collard greens cooked in savory broth with smoky bacon.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs collard greens, washed and chopped
  • 6 cups of chicken broth
  • 4 slices of bacon, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 tsp of black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp of red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.

  2. Add diced onion to the bacon grease and cook until translucent. Add garlic and cook for another minute.

  3. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil. Add collard greens, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir well to combine.

  4. Reduce heat to low, cover and cook for 1 hour until the greens are tender.

  5. Stir in crispy bacon pieces before serving.
