How To Make Joella’s Collard Greens

Classic collard greens made with smoked turkey in a soul food style.

Preparation: 10 minutes
Cooking: 1 hour and 30 minutes
Total: 1 hour and 40 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch of collard greens, stemmed and chopped
  • 4 cups of chicken broth
  • 1 smoked turkey wing or drumstick
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring the chicken broth and smoked turkey to a boil.

  2. Add the onion, garlic, and collard greens to the pot and stir.

  3. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

  4. Add apple cider vinegar and salt and pepper to taste, then let simmer for another 10 minutes.

  5. Serve and enjoy!
