Watermelon Pickles Recipe

How To Make Watermelon Pickles

These watermelon pickles are soaked in white vinegar and sugar with an added taste of cinnamon and cloves.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole watermelon
  • 6 cups sugar
  • 2 cups white vinegar
  • 2 drops cinnamon oil, same as candy oil
  • 2 drops clove oil, same as candy oil

Instructions

  1. Peel the melon and cube into 1-inch piece.
  2. In a pan, cover with water and cook until tender.
  3. Drain in a colinder.
  4. Bring sugar, vinegar, cinnamon oil and clove oil to a boil.
  5. Put melon cubes in a bowl and pour hot syrup over melon cubes.
  6. Leave to cool and refrigerate for 3 days.
  7. Reheat all to a boil and seal in canning jars.
