How To Make Pickled Okra

Enjoy a flavorful vegetable side with this pickled okra made with dried chile peppers and dried dill in boiled vinegar, water, and salt.

Ingredients

  • lbsfresh okra
  • 3dried red chile peppers
  • 3tspdried dill
  • 2cupswater
  • 1cupvinegar
  • 2tbspsalt

Instructions

  1. Divide the fresh okra evenly between 3 sterile (1 pint) jars. Place one dried chile and 1 teaspoon of dill into each jar.

  2. In a small saucepan, combine the water, vinegar, and salt. Bring to a rolling boil.

  3. Pour over the ingredients in the jars, and seal in a hot water bath for 10 minutes.

  4. Refrigerate jars after opening.
