Sweet, spicy, and sour, this nuoc cham sauce is a Vietnamese dip that adds layers of flavors to any dish with its mix of chiles, fish sauce, and lime juice.

- 2red thai chiles,or 1 medium jalapeño
- 2medium garlic cloves
- 2tbspsugar
- 2tbspAsian fish sauce
- 2tbsplime juice,fresh
- 2tbspwater
Instructions

In a mortar, pound the chiles, garlic, and sugar to a paste.

Stir in the fish sauce, lime juice, and water.
