  • 4 cups cubed bread
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup diced celery
  • 1/2 cup diced apple
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 2-quart baking dish.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together bread cubes, onion, celery, apple, and raisins.

  3. In a frying pan over medium heat, melt butter. Add sage, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute.

  4. Pour butter mixture over bread mixture. Mix well.

  5. Add chicken broth and mix until all bread cubes are moistened.

  6. Spoon mixture into prepared baking dish.

  7. Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy on top.
