How To Make Chicken Biryani Recipe
A flavorful and aromatic dish of tender chicken, fragrant basmati rice, and exotic spices.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 4 chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 onions, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, minced
- 2 tbsp biryani masala
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
- 1/4 cup mint leaves, chopped
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)
- 2 cups water
- 1/4 cup fried onions, for garnish
Instructions

Wash and soak rice in cold water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Heat ghee in a large pot over medium heat. Add onions and sauté until translucent.

Add ginger and garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes.

Add chicken and sauté until browned.

Add biryani masala, turmeric powder, and salt and mix well.

Add yogurt and mix well. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add water and bring to a boil.

Add drained rice and stir.

Cover and cook on low heat for 15-20 minutes.

Turn off heat and let biryani sit covered for 10-15 minutes.

Fluff rice with a fork and mix in chopped cilantro and mint leaves.

Garnish with fried onions and serve hot.
