  • 2.5 lbs pork shoulder or butt
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 4 hamburger buns


  1. In a small bowl, mix together paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper to create the spice rub.

  2. Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder or butt, covering it completely.

  3. Place the seasoned pork in the slow cooker and pour in the chicken broth.

  4. Cook on low heat for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shreds.

  5. Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.

  6. Pour the barbecue sauce over the shredded pork and mix well.

  7. Serve the pulled pork on hamburger buns and enjoy!
